With no pricing, no way to order, and a smallish photo, I'd say it's a near reality.

If I hadn't seen it develop on this board, I'd be skeptical.

On another forum he mentioned an $800 price. I don't know if that is firm though. Come Oct. we will see. Click on the photo to see a larger one.

Seems to me you still are.

"The Coin Artist sorts over 300 pennies per minute. With the price of copper going up, It is time for you to take advantage of this once in a lifetime opportunity."

The yeld in his area he stated is aaround 29.8 % copper in sorted pennies

for the sake of argument lets say it would sort out 100 copper pennies a minute

the value of copper content in a penny today is 1.2 cents

that means profit on each penny sorted is .2 cents
profit on 100 copper pennies sorted is 20 cents

every minute

which comes out to 12 dollars an hour per machine.

then there is the time spent rolling the coins back into the rolls and taking them to your local bank

and the banks are unlikely to try to replace the zink pennies they are getting with more pennies from a central bank. so i would assume the yield to go down as you deplete banks from copper

12 dollars an hour to feed the machine 18,000 pennies

I'd rather polish shoes

FYI, here is a reply he made to a post of mine concerning his machine.

If there is (or will be) one cent profit for each copper cent I find, it would take 80,000 copper cents (800X100=80,000)just to break even. I could buy 8 boxes of nickels with the $800 or 61.5 ounces of silver at $13.00 per ounce with the $800.

No offense Ryedale, but for me to pay that much I would have to have a business where peope like us would pay me to rent it by the minute. Which might not be a bad idea.

I agree this machine is not for all sorters. I would love to make this a cheaper machine and in time it may become less expensive as I recover initial costs for injection molds and such. At 25% coppers you would need to sort a total of 320,000 coins to get the 80,000 coppers. That would take this machine less than 18 hours of run time to pay for itself. I think where most people will have trouble is actually aquiring the coinage. I personally went to the bank and got 4 brinks boxes at a time and did that for a total of 150,000 coins. That was with the original machine which was a joke compared to this new durable machine.
Well thanks for the input, and watch my site from time to time because I may have specials from time to time. Thanks Ryedale

Ryedale is still building his site, I went to that penny forum site from his site under related links.
It looks a lot like this site and was made in 2000.
I wounder what Ryedale is going to sell his penny sorter for.
not finding to many pre 1982 pennys in my change anymore.

800.00 dollars is a little high, most people saving pennies I don't think would want to Invest that kind of money.
800 dollars can buy a lot of silver or a lot of anything on ebay
Sporlan would have to sell his penny sorter to a store owner or store owners that are looking to hoard some or maybe even coin star but not kids saving pennys they will not be able to come up with that.

This is why, I said from the beginning. It is not viable. Hate to see this guy wasting his time and some foolish investors money. Should have just sold plans and been done with it.   :bath: :bath:

If I worked at a bank I would buy one. One that would sort out 100% Canadian nickels would be more cost effective up in Canada.

Ryedale,

Don't get me wrong. It's very cool-looking. But it's way out of my price range, though.

Too bad I can't just go down to Home Depot and rent one. :D

I think the idea is that inflation will get so bad that Gold will buy you a small cruise ship, silver will get you a small ranch, and copper will buy your Segway Human Transporter. It is a machine for hoarders.

Ryedale,

In your first prototype both the zinc and copper came out and went to different boxes using foil. Does your new unit spit out both zinc and copper out of the output on the front or does only copper coins come out? Can the unit stop proccessing once a number has been reached lets say 5000?

Thanks,

I am sorry, that is not very smart comment you posted.

Segway has much copper and silver and even some gold inside. Copper is not money.
Silver is barely money, and pretty much only because we repeat it here as a mantra.

copper is an industrial metal and to think about it buying anything is faulty at best

copper does well when there is no financial ruin. it must be consumed to be valuable.

silver must be consumed to be valuable. it is scarce and price supressed, that is why we are here

gold is not consumed to be valuable.

it is inherently inert and compact, these qualities, plus the scarsity of it give it value.

copper is not scarce in the grand scheme of things.

the current run up is due to china making toasters for us all.

relative to the dollar it might hedge better than say plastic paperclips, but i would not bet a farm on it

I have a large water jug full of Canadian pennies, nickels, and dimes. I rolled the quarters LOL. I think when the time comes I will just pour them out on the floor and sort them out manually. Maybe even roll around in them like scrooge McDuck.

Re: Ryedale's penny sorter is a reality.

did a google search Ryedale seems to be the only one that has a coin sorter that can sort pre 1982 pennies from the newer one.
he can make money with it, if he gets a patent for it,
in the near future a lot of store owners banks etc will be looking for Ryedales sorter.
what if he had a bigger model and put it in a few shopping stores like coin star and charge little less to sort there pennys plus all the change.
well a coin star machine that spits out the older pennys so you can save em but takes a small charge for taking all of your other coins this could wipe out coin star over few years
:bandit: also what if it spit out silver coins if there are any well sounds good
